Comfortably Blind

Third Eye

When you look at me what do you see?
Do you see the front; the ‘polished’ me?
Do you see the irony behind my eyes?
Or the hard, crafted, cool disguise?

Do you see me?

Can you tell I’m laughing deep inside?
Can you comprehend my troubled mind?
Do you see the fire burn through my sighs?
Or do you absorb the carefully crafted lies?

Do you see me?

Do you detect my wide and open views?
Can you sense I have a lot to lose?
Do you listen to words I leave unspoken?
Or do you hear the speech so profoundly broken?

Do you see me?

Would you guess I sense your every move?
Can you dance to my sharp and hardened groove?
Do you delve in deep and theorise?
Or do you stop at nothing without the ‘whys’?

Eye of Horus

Do you see me?

Are you aware I absorb your every feeling?
When I pretend to laugh do you see me reeling?
Do you catch me taking a blow for you?
Or do you see what you want and miss what I do?

Do you see me?

Are you conscious of my need for virtue?
Do you see me looking right on through?
Are you so numb you miss it all?
Or do you pretend to be blind to avoid the fall?

Do you see?

Do you feel morality running through my veins?
Do you see the way my philosophy wanes?
When you look at me what do you see?
Do you see the front; the ‘polished’ me?
